Avalanche Course
Learn the basics to be able to plan and carry out your own ski touring trips.

We spend two days outdoors focusing on terrain selection, avalanche warning, snow knowledge, buddy rescue and group dynamics. This course does not require any prior knowledge other than that you can get up and down safely on skis.
The aim of the course is to give you a thorough introduction to what traffic in or near avalanche terrain entails. If you want to learn the basics of avalanches, avalanche terrain, buddy rescue and the use of caution, this is the course for you!

We meet at Rema 1000 Bertnes 08.30 for joint driving towards today's hiking destination (Valnesfjord, Misvær, Heggmoen). Participants are responsible for their own transportation.
The course is basically run regardless of weather and conditions, so bring plenty of clothes. We are mainly outdoors. We stand more still than on a regular summit trip.
